Can You Eat on the Bus?
Yes, eating on the bus is allowed! Unlike the Taipei MRT, food is permitted on long-distance buses like the Jiufen route, so feel free to enjoy your snacks during the ride.

The bus fare is very affordable!
One-way Fare: NT$101 Near the bus stop for route 1062, you might encounter some taxi drivers looking for passengers (around 125 TWD per person). However, since the bus comes every 15 minutes, it’s best to just be patient and wait for it!

There are two ways to pay for your bus fare:
EasyCard (悠遊卡): Simply tap your card when getting on and getting off the bus. It’s quick and convenient.
Cash Payment: When you board the bus, tell the driver “Jiufen Old Street” and receive a ticket. When you get off, pay the fare to the driver along with your ticket.

Getting Off at Jiufen
You will get off at the “Jiufen Old Street” bus stop (the 22nd stop). Many people get off here, so it’s easy to find. The bus driver will announce your arrival loudly, and since passengers get off together, there’s no worry about missing your stop.
If you get off at the previous stop, there’s a route with long stairs leading up to Jiufen, but it’s generally more convenient to get off at “Jiufen Old Street”.
Return Bus Stop Location
On the way back, the bus stop is located a bit further up compared to where you got off. You will easily recognize it as there will be a long line of people waiting. There are buses heading to Taipei and Keelung, so make sure to choose the bus going to Taipei. When you board the bus, the driver will ask where you’re heading, so simply say “Taipei” and receive a ticket. You will return the ticket along with the fare when you get off the bus.
The return station is the same “MRT Zhongxiao Fuxing Station” as the departure station, but you will be dropped off just a bit earlier than on the way there.
